Butter

Butter: explaining a block-based video editor in one page

A product site for a browser video editor built from reusable blocks. A playful 3D keychain hero leads into a block library, three ways to create, a template carousel and a Figma plugin.

What the site explains

Butter is described as an online video editor whose timeline runs reusable blocks: motion graphics, kinetic type, 3D and shader effects that can be adjusted with dials, sliders, prompts or code.

The page walks from importing to shipping, then shows three ways to create (remix, describe, code), resizing for common formats and team toolkits.

Design and experience

Light, airy and animated

A light layout puts one large 3D hero object above a very big sans headline and a single dark button. Short sections below alternate screenshots, animated controls and a horizontally scrolling template carousel grouped by industry.

Small looping animations show the dials and sliders working, so the idea of adjustable blocks is seen rather than read.

Build and discoverability

A site separate from the app

Images come from the Prismic headless CMS, and the editor itself lives on a separate app subdomain with its own login, templates and blocks pages. The site links to a Figma plugin, a blog and social profiles.

Content is English only, with a pricing page and a free-trial call to action.
